Vickey Thompson started her career as a teacher in Minnesota. After several years a new path unfolded and she moved to Michigan and a career in business. Ever open to possibilities, she was drawn to counseling by a strong desire to help individuals experiencing difficulties in life. Ten years ago that decision turned toward grief counseling after she experienced death and loss in her own life. While appreciating the value and sacredness of life and searching for answers, life opened her eyes to Debbie Ford and coaching. Through coaching and her need to keep growing, she came to understand that the answers are not outside but within our own hearts.
As a result of the work of Debbie Ford and Integrative Coaching, Vickey has come to learn that all of life's experiences provide the ingredients of profound inner wisdom and gifts are found in each of our stories. The new awareness has given her the courage and strength to trust that she can have a life that is balanced and operate from her highest self. She negotiated a business arrangement that provides a win-win situation for both she and her employer. The result of that negotiation also benefits both her coaching and counseling clients. She now has the space to work with counseling clients as they move through the pain of grief and create a new life. Additionally, she is able to devote the time to guide her coaching clients as they manifest their highest life.
One of her most rewarding moments was when a former coaching client wrote to let her know about the dreams she had fulfilled and the many new possibilities she was experiencing in her life. Vickey has gained a depth of experience and expertise as she has coached these past eight years. Her commitment to her clients, her compassion and her listening skills provide an atmosphere that is safe and gentle where clients can grow and blossom. Clients who are honest, open and willing can see how their own stories have given them the ingredients and the wisdom to take the actions that awaken new possibilities for their life.
